Reasons to be Cheerful

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy From the Heart

Again this wonderful Meme is hosted over at Mummy From The Heart, please do join in!

These are my three reasons to be cheerful this week.

1) My eldest daughter Ana, turned thirteen on the 26th January. I hasn't been the easiest of journeys if I am truly honest. But I wouldn't have missed watching and helping her grow into the wonderful and joyous young lady she is today for all the world.

2) Amy my four year old daughter has been attending Reception class at her school now for three weeks and she loves every minute of it. I am astounded at how well her reading and letter recognition is coming on

and

3) I'm not sure if this is a reason to be cheerful or terrified, but I think I'll go with cheerful. Yesterday we discovered we're expecting another baby! There goes my sanity, or what's left of it.

Listography: Top Five Celebrities You'd Love To Punch

I guess I am a little late to the party, but once I saw the theme I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with you my 'Top Five Celebrities I'd Love To Punch'

1)
Katie Price, aka Jordan. There's no reason I can put my finger on for my feelings of absolute venom towards this woman. I just detest her with every fibre of my being. So much so that I even had a dream that I did indeed punch her, quite squarely in that angled face of hers. It is by far the best dream I have to this date ever had, for the rest of the day I had a spring in my step.

2)
Kerry Katona. How many times can someone re-invent themselves to still essentially end up as the vile Queen of the Chavs?

Whether she is just incapable of helping herself or has been taken advantage of by those closest to her, keep her off my TV screen and out of my papers!

3)
Victoria Beckham, possibly cheating husband aside, she seems to have everything that most women dream of. Great looks, a figure to die for, more money then she knows what to do with and three perfectly healthy and gorgeous boys, with another baby on the way. So why is it we never see her with a smile on her face? Cheer up love, or I may have to knock that infuriating pout round the other side of your face.

4)
Russell Howard, strangely someone I quite liked and indeed if I am honest, fancied a little bit. I thought he was cute an incredibly funny on Mock The Week and couldn't wait for his own show to be aired. That's when it all started to fall apart really. He suddenly came across as that completely immature, toilet humour tickled, totally unfunny boy you used to avoid in the school playground because, well, he was a bit of a twat really.

5)
Russell Brand. Fookywooky Offywoffy. That is all.

Reasons To Be Cheerful!

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy From the Heart

A wonderful new weekly Meme that is hosted by the wonderful Mummy From The Heart.

It's pretty simple to do and join in. Simply list three 'Reasons To Be Cheerful' for this week, then pop on over to Mummy From The Heart's blog to link up your entry. So without further a do, here are my three reasons to be cheerful.

1. My back guttering has finally been fixed after just over a week of waiting. Last Wednesday the scene below greeted me when I stepped into our back garden. A large piece of guttering had fallen and smashed to pieces on our glass garden table. Thankfully the only damage was that to the plastic guttering, which still managed to spew it's containts of moss and slime all over the patio and the rest of the garden furniture.

2. The sun is shining and it is a bright if rather chilly winter's day. Most preferable to the relentless days of grey dreary rain and fog we had to endure. Somehow dispite the cold it makes the walk to and from school so much more enjoyable. Wrap up, get out there and get some colour in your cheeks!

3. My cat Charlie O'Marley has finally over come his fears that I may be trying to poison him with his new raw food diet and has actually relented and eaten some.

The Gallery - Mother Nature

This week's theme for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers blog, is Mother Nature.

Below is a picture taken on Tuesday morning around 9am, after several days of solid rain.

It looks like a watercolour painting swirled with silver and gold. There is nothing more beautiful then a misty Winter's Morn.

Writing Workshop - Childhood Memories

This week's theme for Sleep is for the Weak's Writing workshop is, Childhood Memories.

Here is my entry.

Memories

It was nothing more then a glimpse, a childhood memory. Fluttering moments of fleeting images stretched tightly across the empty pages of his mind, warming the senses like comforting rays of mid-summer sun. A memory of happier times, of love and laughter, when the world was less black and white but a riot of beautiful cascading colours cocooned deeply within the endless bounds of safety.

At first it had been so clear and vibrant, as if peering through polished glass. Now it was worn and faded like an old, well loved photograph. Dog-eared, torn and tattered in placed but the time weary faces still remained.

How he longed to dip his hands into the shimmering opaline swirls and to be able to pull their brother back to them. Back, as he was then, effervescent innocence barely contained. So full of wonder, of colour, love. Of life.

Filthy shadows simmered and scratched their way into the image, greying the edges and smearing the colours as acid bright flecks of the present burnt through, bleaching out the memories as the embers slowly crackled and died.

The Gallery - Sparkle

This week's theme for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers blog, is Sparkle.

Below are some pictures I took on Bonfire Night at a large display we took the girls to. That night the sky literally sparkled. Ana loved it, Amy hated it. Oh well, there's always next year.

Shadow Shot Sunday

The picture below is for Shadow Shot Sunday over at Hey Harriet.

Not the greatest or most awe inspiring picture but I love the way mid-morning winter sun elongates shadows, making us all into giants.

The Gallery - White

This week's theme for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers, is white.

For the past few weeks large areas of the UK have been blanketed under several inches of snow. Schools closed, public transport ground to a halt and panic buying ensued.

Here in Berkshire we escaped pretty unscathed, yet Thursday we had the dreaded fall out. A total of 4 mm of snow. As you can see my cat Charlie O'Marley from The Paw Relations blog was less then impressed with Mother Nature's glittering show.

Wha? Who the hell put all that white stuff there?
